As the football mania is set to grip the state with the inaugural Super League Kerala (SLK) 2024 on September 7, Technopark, the country’s first IT Park, today hosted an exciting promotional event of the franchise-styled tournament.
The all-Kerala event, titled ‘Super Pass Relay,’ was organized by Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC, one of the six teams of the SLK, to permeate the spirit of the game as well as the thrilling action on cards in the tournament.
Receiving the ‘Super Pass Relay,’ Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd), CEO, Technopark, said the capital city is not only an emerging technology hub but also a sports hub. “The city has already been established globally in tourism and IT sectors with stupendous achievements over the years. Now that a team is representing the capital city in Super League Kerala 2024, it is going to be a decisive step towards the city being transformed into a sports hub,” he said.
He also wished Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC to perform well in the tournament. Founder CEO of Technopark Shri G Vijayaraghavan, Technopark officials and employees of various companies were also present.
‘Super Pass Relay’, which was kicked off in Kasaragod on August 17, will travel through all the districts before concluding in Kochi on September 7.
Calicut FC, Kannur Warriors FC, Kochi Forca FC, Malappuram FC, Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC and Thrissur Magic FC are the six franchises that will feature in the inaugural SLK.
The SLK 2024 matches will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, Malappuram District Sports Complex Stadium in Manjeri, Kozhikode’s EMS Corporation Stadium and Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The final match will be held on November 10.
